About Me

Hi! I'm Jess, the creator of AK Mountaintop Mermaid. 

I've been tinkering in jewelry making for a few years now but never really thought about selling my work. A friend told me once that I should open up an Etsy shop, and that evolved into my shop you see here. 

My main love is making jewelry, but I occasionally get crafty with the paint and canvas, resin, and woodworking. I love creating things that I find while beach-combing the beautiful shores near my home in Juneau, AK. I love working with gemstones in their natural, raw form as well as working with wire, but my main love is copper electroforming and silversmithing. All my pieces are inspired from my adventures on the sea to the mountain peaks and everything in between. I respectfully forage and collect as many things from nature as I can to create wearable art that's unique and one-of-a-kind.

I've lived in Juneau, AK since 2012 and I'm here for life - Alaska stole my heart! I've been a boat captain since 2016 and a lover of all things snow related.

I came up with the name AK Mountaintop Mermaid because it describes me perfectly. My heart belongs to the mountains and my soul belongs to the sea.
