Mermaid Talisman // Seashells, Sea Glass, Quartz

Enhance your mermaid luck with this ocean themed pendant that is as local to southeast Alaska as it gets. 

Every component of this piece was sourced from the Juneau area. The clam shells, Blue Mussel shell, and sea glass I found myself on one of my daily dog walks on the beach, and the milky quartz point was mined a few miles south of Juneau by a local man. 

This oceany beauty comes on an 18” antiqued copper chain. Chain length can be adjusted up on request. 

All copper will eventually oxidize and tarnish with time and wear, but the copper on this necklace has also been coated with a metal specific protective varnish to extend the life of the natural copper shine.

There are many easy techniques to bring back the lustrous copper shine such as a simple rub of a jewelry cloth, soaking in vinegar, soaking in lemon or lime juice, and even using ketchup!

Electroforming is a very time intensive process that produces unique results with each piece having it's own beautiful textured characteristics. Each piece takes 24-48 hours just to create the copper plating, and days of prep work before and after receiving that beautiful copper energy. Lots of love and attention goes into each of my copper electroformed pieces, and I hope you enjoy them!
