Mermaid Spirit Pendant with Mussels, Sea Urchin, and Quartz Points

♡ These blue mussel shells and tiny sea urchin was collected on one of my beach walks near my home in Juneau, Alaska. I gave new life to these beachcomber info treasures by turning them into a unique copper electroformed pendant that you can wear as a necklace to take the essence of the sea and copper energy with you wherever the wind blows you.

The mussel shells have been cleaned and lightly bleached to remove any unwanted smells and has been carefully given a very light clear varnish for protection and to bring out the natural shine of the shell.

The sea urchin has been cleaned and cast in resin for added ultra strength and durability to a normally fragile beach treasure.

I also added three clear quartz points for a crystal vibe and to bring out as much ocean energy as possible.

This pendant comes on an 18” antiqued copper chain. If you’d like a different length, just send me a message upon checkout.

All copper will eventually oxidize and tarnish with time and wear, but the copper on this Alaskan Mussel shell ring has also been coated with a protective varnish to extend the life of the natural copper shine. There are many easy techniques to bring back the lustrous copper shine such as a simple rub of a jewelry cloth, soaking in vinegar, soaking in lemon or lime juice, and even using ketchup!

Electroforming is a very time intensive process that produces unique results with each piece having it’s own beautiful characteristics. Each piece takes 24-48 hours just to create the copper plating, and days of prep work before and after receiving that beautiful copper energy.
