Cicada with Ethiopian Opals on an Alder Twig

This unique, one of a kind REAL Cicada necklace is sure to wow the crowd and get some looks! 

Two beautiful Ethiopian Opals pair perfectly with this real Cicada that has been immortalized into a pendant by using the process of copper electroforming. She sits on a real electroformed Alder twig.  I have given it a darkened patina to really make those details pop! 

This cicada was found naturally deceased and I would never harm a living being to create my wearable art. 

She hangs on a 24” antiqued soldered copper chain.

Opal is most known for its ability to bring one’s traits and characteristics to the surface for examination and transformation. All copper will eventually oxidize and tarnish with time and wear, but the copper on this necklace has been coated with a protective varnish to extend the life of the natural antiqued copper shine and patina.

Electroforming is a very time intensive process that produces unique results with each piece having it's own beautiful characteristics. Each piece takes 24-48 hours just to create the copper plating, and days of prep work before and after receiving that beautiful copper energy.
